9 month old Orin

Orin is now 9 months old. He had his check up on Friday. He is still growing like a weed.
Here is a picture of the cute kid.

At Orin's checkup they checked his iron which was good they had to prick his toe and get blood from it. He didn't cry but he gave the nurse a funny look like "what are you doing? That really hurts!" The nurse put a bandaid on it and Orin stared at the bandaid then looked at me and back and forth. It was pretty funny. Then he reached down and ripped the bandaid off. They also gave him 2 shots. He usually takes his shots really well but this time it must have hurt because it made him scream. It was sad. He loves the doctor and gives the doctor lots of smiles.
They measured and weighed him.
Height: 31" 98%
Weight: 22 lbs 75%
Head 50%

He has been in the same percentiles for the past 3 check ups. The doctor said that was really good. Everything looked good. His ears looked really good which I was worried because he is always grabbing those ears and daycare always mentions it. Thankfully no earache!

The doctor said he could feel 4 teeth on top and one more on the bottom that will probably be coming up soon. Which he woke up this morning with his teeth hurting at 4 AM.

Here he is eating a piece of licorice because it makes his gums feel better when he chews on it. He is very messy but he was loving it!

Orin has learned to climb the stairs and does it all the time. He loves to chase kitty up the stairs. Here is a picture where he is in the middle of the stairs.

Orin also is loving to stand up everywhere. He prefers to stand whenever he can. He does a lot of crawling and is getting really fast. He chases the kitty all over the house.
Here is a picture of him standing at the sliding glass door leading to the deck. If you notice his pj's have gotten a little small on his arms. Those are his 12 months he now has to wear 18 months or it is too small on his arms and legs.

Orin has a favorite word...DA DA. He says it all the time. It is funny he will be busy playing with stuff and just saying da da. He loves to say da da when he is climbing the stairs. Orin LOVES his Dad so much! He gets so excited when his dad enters the room. I always bring Orin to bed to wake up Joel on weekends and Orin will crawl over to him and lay his head on the pillow next to his dad. He loves to sit on his dad's lap while at the computer. In this picture, Orin is sitting there just chatting saying da da.

What else is going on with Orin.
He loves to be read to. Every night we read 2 books before bed. He loves to point at the pictures. We bought his first pair of shoes today. I will have to take a picture of him in them for the next blog.
He doesn't eat solid foods very well but the doctor said to just give it time. He loves pureed food though. He does like ritz crackers but anything else and he chokes. He hates the gerber puffs which all my friends babies love. So I am hoping he will grow to like them I read he can get a lot of nutrients from snacks.

Orin struggles lately with sleeping. I think it has to do with those darn teeth.

For the most part he is a really happy baby and is tons of fun! We love him so much and are enjoying every minute with him. He is always making us laugh with the silly things that he does.

  1. Climbing the stairs! Are you kidding me, Colton is just barely getting the hang of getting up on all fours :). It's funny how different babies can be :). He is so dang cute, a keeper for sure!
