Memorial Day

This Memorial day weekend was very eventful. We planted our garden. This picture below is of the plants that weren't from seed. We planted tomatoes, peppers, green beans, carrots, zucchini, and cucumbers. Right after we finished planting Joel was sick. He had a fever and did not feel well. He had a fever all Monday and Tuesday. It went all the way up to 104 degrees but mostly was at 102 most of the time. I was VERY worried about him. Especially on Tuesday when I had to go back to work. Luckily Tuesday about 3 pm his fever went down to 99 degrees.

This is the picture of my cilantro. It is growing nicely - thanks to Joel for remembering to water it for me.

Here is Orin playing inside when I was on the deck. He thought it was funny to look at me through the door.

This is the banana pepper plant we bought from Wal-Mart that already had the peppers on it. I was so excited they are almost ready to pick.

My brother David is in the navy and he is out on deployment and he sent Orin some shirts from where he has visited.  Here he is in one of them.

So Orin had an allergic reaction to his antibiotic on Sunday and if you look at his face it has a rash on the cheeks. I know his cheeks are red alot of the time but this time it is the rash. He also had it all over his body and a white spot on his tongue.  So they gave us a new antibiotic and he is doing much better.

He is better and the rash is gone now. This is a cute picture of him laughing at Joel.

I told Orin to model for me for Uncle David. This is what I got.

Orin in his birthday shirt from the grandparents.

Orin only has 4 teeth but he showed me how he can bite into a chicken patty all on his own today. We went to sliders and I cut up half a chicken patty for him and then he found the part not cut up and he just grabbed it and started biting right out of it. I guess my baby is growing up. I don't have to cut his food up as little as before...at least with some things.

Grandpa Visit and Wellness Checkup

My dad giving Orin his bottle and chatting with my mom. He was flying out to Seattle to visit my little brother but missed the flight and stayed the night with us and Orin loved the extra attention. He decided he loves to have Grandpa hold him and take him everywhere. Orin points and Grandpa will take him over there. Orin LOVES it!

This is Orin playing with his new favorite toy from Uncle Lance and Aunt Brittney. He likes that he can carry it around everywhere.

We took Orin for his wellness checkup and found out that he wasn't well. He actually had an earache in both ears. He had a fever the night before and that morning but I thought it was cuz he was getting 2 teeth in and he gets fevers when he gets teeth sometimes. So they gave us some medicine and gave him his shots. He usually takes the shots well but not this time since he was already sick he cried a lot. It was so sad. Here is a picture of me and my sick baby. He didn't feel like doing anything. We just sat like this all day yesterday. He was so hot we took off his pants. He is holding the thermometer. He likes it.

He just sat there and let me read book after book and he didn't try and change the pages. That is so unlike him.

This morning his fever went down and he was a happy baby.

Those teeth are still hurting him. He wouldn't open his mouth all day.

That darn fever came back... and I have a sad baby again.

So Orin's stats from the checkup
33" tall and over 99%
26 lbs and 90%
Head is 50%

So we have a tall baby. He is pretty solid. I would love if these stupid earaches would go away. He just got off some antibiotics on May 16. Now he is on a new antibiotic. When he is sick we usually can't tell too much of a difference in him but when he has a a fever he is a totally different kid. It is so sad.

The Park

On Sunday, Orin's Birthday, we went to the park with my parents and Jodi and boys and Becky and her kids. It is the new park in Saratoga Springs that is just like 20 min from our house. This park is pretty fun. It has toys for big kids and little kids. We all had a good time. Above is a video of Orin swinging. He loved it. He just giggled as I would push him. It was so cute!

Here is a picture on this little car that is on like springs and it would bounce. Orin loved this little car.

In this picture you can see the shirt I made Orin for his birthday that says "I am 1"

Just loving those swings.

These swings make me wish I had one at my house...maybe we could hang it from our deck.

Orin and me on the teeter-totter (not sure how to spell it).

Joel on top of the big cubes...king of the cubes hahaha

The Nephews (Peyton, Kaleb, Aidan) and Joel

Orin loving those swings again but with Daddy pushing.

Me on the top of the pyramid. I was totally scared! I don't do well at heights but my nephews wanted me to climb up with them. I just couldn't let them down.

Me on the cubes. This park is a lot of fun. These cubes were fun but hot since I had to take my sandals off to climb them. Luckily Joel caught me when I got down so I didn't have to land in the wood chips.

We had a great time at the park...it is definitely a park we will go back to.  Thanks Jodi and boys for taking us there...we will have to go again together.

Orin's Party (lots pictures)

Orin turned 1 year old today!!! His party was on Saturday and we had a great time. We had a great turn out and some good food.

Orin and I before the party began. I made his shirt. It says Birthday Boy.
Here is the cake table and some pictures of the cute birthday boy through the year.

Here is the cake Orin ate. I made this one and am pretty impressed out well it turned out for my first cake with decorating like this on it. I didn't get the picture of my banner I made him...it is lower in the post.

Cake for everyone else...with a dragon on it from How to train your dragon.
The theme was dragons and by it is a bowl of m&ms that we labeled as dragon eggs. :)

Some other decorations of dragon eggs.

The amazing daddy cooking on the grill with his buddy from work Pheng.

Loc and Marlien.

We got some balloons and they were very popular. Orin loved the balloons.
Here my brother Scott and nephews Peyton and Casen and  niece Tasia and Orin were playing with one.

The present table and my pictures of Orin through the year. I did it 1 min, 1 day, 1 week, 1 mon, 2 mon and so on... We also had everyone sign around his picture so he can see who was at his party.

Uncle Scott and Orin

Orin eating his dinner. He is such a good eater he ate all of it except only half of the hotdog.

Everyone getting some good food. :)

My friend Sarah. She was amazing and helped me so much with getting the food ready and cleaned up. Thanks Sarah!

Pinata hitting. I have a video of Orin but didn't get a picture of him. so maybe I will add it later.
This is Brennon hitting it.

Peyton hitting the pinata.

Casen knocked it down.

Orin after picking up lots of candy...luckily he ate none of it.

Orin hit the jackpot with gifts! He got some sweet toys and clothes.

He loves this dog. He kept laying on it when he is tired. This is the closest he will ever get to having a dog.

Orin just happy about his toys.

Here Orin with his cake. He was excited about the candle. He didn't blow it out though he just kept blowing up instead of out.

Orin didn't really dig into it. He just would grab a bit and put it in his mouth.  We had to give him a spoon to get it actually ate.

Orin loving the frosting.

Uncle Lance who took most of the pictures for us. Thanks Lance!!  Also if you look behind you can see the sweet banner I made that says HAPPY BIRTHDAY ORIN.

My sweet birthday boy who was getting tired.

Happy Birthday Orin!!!
