My Distraction During Games

A couple of weeks ago my niece Tasia and I went to the store and bought some fabric for a little quilt. Since Joel and Kaleb were playing games we decided we were going to do crafty stuff. We made some rock magnets with her name and flowers for her locker at school.

So now whenever Joel is playing games I work on my quilt. It is a nice distraction since I can't stand to just sit around and watch him play his fairy princess game. This is the first start of my quilt. I liked deciding what design goes where. Since it is my first pieced quilt it is just a small one. Maybe someday I will make a bigger one.

I have now finished the front part of the quilt. Here it is!

It is not perfect. I don't cut as straight as I would like and I don't really sew that straight...it must just take practice. I told Joel now I need to finish it but we don't have frame. So he is going to make one then he can play lots more games. In the meantime we got more fabric to make another little one while waiting for the frame. I think I will try and do the next one more precise.

  1. Your need a rotary cutter and rotary mat and straight edge to cut all those squares. Then they come out straight. I think it looks really good though.

  2. I do need some distractions during games though, those guys have been playing so many lately.

  3. Ya I got the cutter and mat...I still struggle. They play a lot that is how I finished the quilt so fast cuz I had so much time. Distractions are really nice...plus Joel will get it for me so that he can play more games. haha

  4. Love the quilt you made! I also like the quilt shelf that you made. I'm jealous - I'd like to get a nicer shelf for my quilt. It looks really nice.
